GISW Paola Queen Draws $1.7 M at Keeneland

GI Test heroine Paola Queen (Flatter–Kadira, by Kafwain) drew a final bid of $1.7 million during the second session of Keeneland’s November sale. Consigned by Elite sales, Hip 297 was purchased by Don Alberto. Out of mutiple stakes winner a graded placed Kadira, the 4-yeard-old broodmare prospect is from the family of Grade I scorer Point Ashley.

Don Alberto’s advisor Fernando Diaz-Valdes: “She was a very good racemare,” Diaz-Valdes said. “This year, she had some issues and was in training at Bridlewood…All the opinions from other people were that she was very classy and has a lot of talent. She was quite a performer, so I think to add a [Grade I] winner by Flatter is absolutely great for us. She’s another addition to the good broodmare band that we have at the farm.”

Diaz-Valdes said breeding plans would be discussed in the near future. “We have stallions now. She could go to Empire Maker, but we will see,” Diaz-Valdes said. — @BMassamTDN
