Future Elite Grad Midnight Bisou Runs Huge 2nd in Inaugural Saudi Cup

Newly crowned Champion Midnight Bisou put up an incredible effort when running a gallant 2nd in the inaugural $20,000,000 Saudi Cup, just missing to Champion Three-Year-Old Maximum Security while facing males for the first time.

2019’s Champion Older Female Dirt Horse hadn’t run since finishing 2nd in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff with a rough trip, but had been training forwardly at Fair Grounds before shipping to Saudi Arabia in good shape.

Allowed to settle in at the back of the pack under jockey Mike Smith, Midnight Bisou made an eye catching run using her electric turn of foot, running past several top older dirt horses like they were standing still, only to miss by 3/4 of a length. She did, however, pick up a $3.5 million check for her efforts for owners Bloom Racing, Madaket Stables and Allen Racing.
