Elite fillies filled two of the top three spots in Saturday’s G3 Molly Pitcher at Monmouth on Saturday.
Midnight Bisou, a three time G1 winner for Bloom Racing Stables, Madaket Stables and Allen Racing, stretched her winning streak to five with an easier than it looked one length win at the Jersey Shore. The dark bay four year old shot through a hole at the top of the lane under jockey Mike Smith and won with something in hand. The win brought the future Elite consignee’s record at 1 1/16 miles to a remarkable nine for nine. “She’s a true blessing,” trainer Steve Asmussen said about the 4-year-old filly. “The connections, how she responds to Mike, it’s a beautiful thing to be a part of.”
G3 winner Cosmic Burst has returned to form over her past couple of starts, including a 3rd place finish to Midnight Bisou on Saturday. The graded stakes winning daughter of Violence is set to sell with Elite in November of this year for owners Norma Lee Stockseth and Todd Dunn.
